Editing your Template
Load the page locally into your browser as you are making these changes and watch your new page take shape.
- Select an open a template that you wish to edit.
- Between the title --TITLE-- tags replace the existing text with the title of your page.
(This is the title that appears in the title block of your browser.)
- Replace the existing body string --BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF" BODY TEXT="#000000" LINK="#0033ff" VLINK="#555555" ALINK="#0033ff"-- with the one compiled from
the Hex Picker.
- Replace the text, ' Your Catalog, etc. (Your Title)', with the text title of the page.
- Replace with in each --TR-- segment as follows:
- The A HREF contents should be the path to the linked document (Catalog or Description Page)
- The IMG SRC="#image.jpeg should be changed to your image's file name
- alt="[Your Picture's Name]" - Change 'Your Picture's Name' to the actual name of your picture.
- Change the Category# or Description# text to your actual text for that category or item.
- On Description Pages replace existing text with your actual information. ie Product Name, full description, Price, and fill in the 'Who to contact block', ie Your Name, Your Company Name, etc.
- Substitute your file path information to all A HREFs at the bottom of the page and adjust the link's text to suit your own.
- Test all anchor links to make sure that your navigation is correct.
You may add line listings to a given page . Just copy a --TR-- group and paste it under the last --TR-- group in the table. Rember to add another support page (i.e. Catalog Page for an index or Description Page for a Catalog Page).
Follow these simple directions changing a catalog and its corresponding description pages and you will have an easy to navigate, interactive catalog.
